Stúfur is the third one

The third Yule Lad to come to town is Stúfur (Shorty). He is the smallest of the 13 brothers - a rare case of a lilliputian troll. (If there ever was a case to be made for troll therapy)

Stúfur used to lie in hiding to steal pots and pans and scrape the crust and eat it. This diet may explain his height, or lack there of, as it were.

Stúfur often travels with the Chrismas Cat, a murderous feline who is known to eat badly behaved children. (There is a Grimm element to this story).

Stúfur is considered especially kind, and a favorite among many children. Probably because he doesn't strike a very imposing figure.
(from Inspired by Iceland)

Stubby was the third called,
a stunted little man,
who watched for every chance
to whisk off a pan.

And scurrying away with it,
he scraped off the bits
that stuck to the bottom
and brims - his favorites.

Sandra is our smallest horse. She is a willing tölt machine and loves to tölt in the snow with her riders. She (and Fannar, our General Manager) likes Stúfur.

(Sandra comes from our partners, Kiddi & Birna, who operates two of our longer tours IH-4 and IH-12)

Dear Ishestar Staff, we are just writing to say thank you very much for the Lava Tour session that we came to on December 6th. Although I had very little riding experience before, the staff was very kind and the horses were very patient and docile, and Tom and I both enjoyed the tour a great deal. Please say hello and thank you to the horses we rode, “Strákur” and “Orri”, when you next see them. Best Wishes and Happy Christmas, Helen and Tom
